Spur and helical
Cylindrical spur gears are the most commonly manufactured type of gear. These are generally used for low and medium speeds, as they can produce variable noise levels at high speeds if not ground or corrected.
Cylindrical helical gears are characterised by their teeth, which are positioned at an angle in relation to the rotational shaft. The shafts may be parallel or crossed, generally at an angle of 90º. They have the advantage of transmitting greater power and speed than spur gears and, moreover, are quieter and more durable. Their main drawback is their increased wear and the fact that they require more lubrication than spur gears.

Internal
Capacity:
- Diameters between 50 and 800 mm.

- Cutting lengths between 0 and 125 mm.
Internal
So named because the cutting is carried out on the inside of the ring or wheel. Their main characteristic is that the tooth gaps correspond to the teeth of an externally cut gear. They are mainly used in planetary sets.
Sprockets




Capacity
- Diameters between 10 and 1,200 mm.
- Pitches up to 50.8 mm (2”).
Sprockets
This type of gear enables the transmission of movement between shafts positioned far away from one another. The mechanism consists of a closed chain whose links mesh with the sprockets fixed to the shafts of the driving and driven mechanisms.

Capacity
- Diameters between 10 and 1,200 mm.
- HTD, T, XL and special belts.

This gear, which is meshed using a toothed belt, enables the transmission of movement between shafts positioned far away from one another.
Racks






Capacity
- Cutting heights of up to 200 mm.
- Modules between 0.5 and 12.
- Diametral pitch between 50 and 2.
Racks
Rack and pinion gears are special because they are considered gearwheels with an infinite diameter. They are used to transform the circular movement of a gear into a rectilinear movement. Just like the external gear teeth, the teeth of the racks can be both spur and helical.
Herringbone sets


Capacity
- Diameters between 10 and 750 mm.
- Modules between 1 and 20.
- Diametral pitch between 50 and 1.5.
- Cutting lengths between 0 and 200 mm.
Herringbone sets
These are double helical gears with a helix on the right and the left, whereby the teeth form a V shape. Their purpose is to eliminate axial forces and minimise slippage errors.
Worm/crown sets



Capacity
- Diameters between 10 and 1,000 mm.
- Modules between 0.5 and 14.
- Diametral pitch between 50 and 2.
- Cutting of any module via tangential system.
Worm/crown sets
They form mechanisms, together with the worm screws or shafts, and are designed to transmit large amounts of force and reduce speed, thus increasing transmission power. They normally work on shafts at an angle of 90º. One disadvantage of this type of gear is that it is impossible to reverse the direction of rotation, in addition to consuming large quantities of power due to friction.
